Dr. Michael Saso was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He received his formal education and training in Dentistry and Anaesthesia at the University of Toronto, where he graduated with Honours. Upon graduating, he was selected to train as a Dental Intern at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. He moved to Ottawa in 1990 and replaced Dr. Ellwood Mitchell who founded the dental practice in 1970. Currently Dr. Saso is on consulting staff at the Ottawa Hospital Department of Dentistry. In 1991, he became a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anaesthesia and in 1996/97 served as the President of the Ontario Dental Society of Anaesthesia. In 2002, he was selected to become a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. The Pierre Fauchard Academy promotes the elevation of the standards and practices of the art and science of dentistry worldwide. Its purpose is to educate dental professionals with the latest techniques and foster a sharing of ideas to improve the practice of dentistry. Since 1990, he has lectured at provincial and national dental meetings on advanced techniques of pain and anxiety management.
Dr. Saso is currently studying under the mentorship of Dr. Frank Spear, founder and Director of the Seattle Institute of Advanced Dental Education http://www.seattleinstitute.com/choosing.phtml
Dr. Spear is recognized as one of the world's premier educators in esthetic and restorative dentistry. The goal of the training is to provide the most conservative, longest lasting, most esthetic restorations possible based on sound scientific evidence.

Outside of the office, Dr Saso enjoys skiing, tennis and traveling.
