Root Canals

To save a tooth from extraction, we may recommend a root canal. A tooth with damaged pulp (also called the nerve) can die and pose a risk for infection in the bloodstream. When this happens, the tooth must be extracted, and for optimal results, replaced with a bridge or implant. However, in some cases, a root canal can salvage the natural tooth, a less invasive and more conservative option.

If we suggest a root canal, rest assured that your comfort will be a major concern. At Dental Anaesthesia Group, we can provide various levels of anaesthesia, including oral sedation, IV sedation, or general anaesthesia. With you comfortable, the dentist will remove damaged pulp from within your tooth and replace it with manmade material. The tooth will be capped with a crown for protection and strength.

If you experience pain and pressure in your tooth, it may have internal damage or infection. To schedule your appointment at Dental Anaesthesia Group, call today. Our Ottawa dental office serves all of Eastern Ontario.
